The Most Delicate Meatballs

Meatballs in the sauce, very tasty and tender! A step-by-step recipe for making delicious meatballs that just melt in the mouth.


● Minced meat — 500g.,
● Onions — 2 pcs.,
● Large tomatoes or tomato juice — 4-5 pcs. or 300-400 ml.,
● Egg — 1 pc.,
● Hard cheese — 150-200g.,
● Rice — 2-3 tbsp. ,
● Garlic — 1-2 cloves,
● Sugar — 1 tbsp.,
● Greenery — 2-3 sprigs,
● Salt — to taste,
● Pepper — to taste.


1. Grate the cheese on a small grater, cut one onion, rice boil until half cooked, and cut the greens with a knife.
2. Add all ingredients together with salt and black pepper in the ground meat and mix gently. Make sure that the cheese is distributed evenly throughout the mass, without forming lumps. Add the egg and thoroughly knead the ready forcemeat.
3. Peel and cut into small cubes the second onion.
4. Place the onion in a pan with warm vegetable oil and bring it to a transparent golden state.
5. If you are dealing with fresh tomatoes, peel them and cut them into neat cubes. Add the tomatoes (or tomato juice) to the roasting onion and pour the sauce under the lid on a low heat for about 10 minutes. Do not forget to add salt, add sugar to remove excess acid and season with black pepper or paprika.
6. Turn off the fire under the frying pan and only after add the chopped garlic to the tomato sauce.
7. Lubricate the bottom of the mold for baking with a little oil and start preparing the meatballs. To avoid sticking the minced meat to your hands, moisten the palm of your hands from time to time in the water.
8. Prepared meat balls fill with tomato sauce and send meatballs to the oven heated up to 180-200 ºC.
9. After 30-40 minutes, open the oven, pour the meatballs with the remaining grated cheese and heat the dish for another 10 minutes.
10. Meatballs are ideally combined with any garnish: boiled rice, pasta or potatoes.
