Steaks in red wine sauce.


Red wine sauce perfectly complements any meat dishes, especially beef steaks.


● Sirloin steaks in weight — 200g. 4 pcs.,
● Chopped shallots — 2 pcs.,
● Butter — 25g.,
● Red wine — 300ml.,
● Fresh thyme — 2-3 sprigs,
● Red currant jelly — 2 tablespoons,
● Mustard seeds — 2 tsp.,
● Salt to taste,
● Ground pepper to taste.


1. Season the steaks with black pepper. Heat a large frying pan with non-stick coating. Cook the steaks for 2-3 minutes on high heat, without turning them. Sprinkle with salt, turn over and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a plate and cover with foil.

2. Reduce heat and fry the sliced shallots in butter until tender, about 2 minutes. Pour red wine, add the thyme and boil down to two-thirds. Add red currant jelly, mustard, salt and pepper.

3. Return the steaks to the pan, warm and serve.
