Pancakes with Saffron and Rum

As an original recipe for sweet pancakes, we offer you an option with saffron and rum. Such pancakes can be sprinkled with powdered sugar, and you can serve with vanilla ice cream.


● Flour — 250 grams or 1 cup (25 cl),
● Salt — 1 pinch,
● Saffron powder — 1 pinch,
● Butter — 25 grams or 2 tbsp.,
● Rum — 1.5 tbsp. or 1½ Tbsp.,
● Egg of chicken — 4 pcs.,
● Milk — 500 ml. or 2 cups (50 cl),
● Sugar — 2 tbsp.,
● Vegetable oil — 2 tbsp.


1. In a small container to pour out saffron and sugar. Stir and pour rum. Leave for at least 30 minutes.
2. Pour the flour into the bowl and add salt. Add the egg to the flour, add pre-melted butter and start to beat, gradually pouring the milk.
3. In the finished pancake batter add rum with saffron, stir and leave the dough for about 2 hours.
4. Lubricating the heated frying pan with vegetable oil, portionwise pour the dough and fry the pancakes from two sides to a ruddy crust.
