Homemade Pilaf

Homemade Pilaf

Pilaf is a dish of oriental cuisine, which is based on cooked rice and meat. The pilaf is crumbly, it is cooked very simply.

• 600 grams or 1,32 pounds — Beef,
• 300-400 grams or 0,66-0,88 pounds — of rice,
• 2 pcs. — carrots,
• 2 pcs. — onion,
• 3 pcs. — whole heads of garlic are well washed,
• 100 grams or 3,52(oz) — vegetable oil,
• Turmeric, seasoning for pilaf, bay leaf, black pepper, salt, greens — to taste.

1. Onion cut into half rings, carrots into strips. Wash rice at least 7 times to clear water.
2. Cut the meat into small cubes, fry in vegetable oil and leave under the lid until half cooked. Then add chopped carrots, onions, spices and pour water to cover and cook, so that the meat is soft.
3. Pour well-washed rice on top, align over the entire surface, insert the garlic heads in rice and add water so that the rice is covered, but do not overdo it, otherwise it will turn into porridge. Cook over low heat.
4. Close the lid, and cook on the slowest heat until the rice swells. Then I usually turn off and wrap the pot so that it comes.

NOTE: Use a large pot (preferably cast iron).

Bon Appetit!!!
