Greek Diples Honey Rolls

This sweetness is loved in Greece and very traditional. It is possible to say for sure that the recipe for diples does not change for centuries. What for? They are already perfect.

Ingredients for 36-46 diples:

For the dough:

● 6 eggs,
● 3.5 cups of flour,
● 1 teaspoon of baking powder,
● 0.5 cup of olive oil,
● Grated zest of one orange,
● 2 tablespoons of brandy,
● 0.5 teaspoon of salt.

For frying:

● Vegetable oil.

For syrup:

● 1 cup of honey,
● 0.5 cup of water,
● 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon,
● 1 tablespoon of lemon juice,
● 1 cup of ground walnuts,
● Confectionary (granulated) sugar.


1. Beat the eggs in a lush foam, carefully add olive oil and orange zest to them. Separately mix flour, baking powder, salt. Connect in small portions with the egg mixture.
2. Put the dough on a flour-padded surface and knead it until smooth. After that, cover and put on for 20 minutes to cool.
3. In the meantime, prepare the syrup. Bring the honey and water to the boil in a saucepan, add the lemon juice, cinnamon, and immediately reduce the heat. Hold the mixture at low heat for 3 minutes.
4. Roll out the chilled dough, form rolls, quickly fry each in a very well heated oil, in a deep frying pan, so that the oil covers the dough.
5. Finished diples will turn out to be a beautiful golden color. Now it is necessary to dry them on a paper napkin, then each dip in syrup, sprinkle with nuts, sugar.
