Chili con carne

This Mexican dish is prepared from ground beef with vegetables, beans and spices. It is served to a table with boiled rice or tortillas.


● Vegetable oil — 1 tbsp.,
● Large onion — 1 pc.,
● Red pepper — 1 pc.,
● Peeled garlic cloves — 2 pcs.,
● Chilli powder — 1 tsp. With a slide,
● Ground paprika — 1 teaspoon,
● Ground cumin — 1 teaspoon,
● Ground beef — 500g.,
● Bouillon cubes with a taste of beef — 1 pc.,
● Canned sliced tomatoes — 400 ml.,
● Dried marjoram — 1/2 tsp.,
● Sugar — 1 teaspoon,
● Tomato paste — 2 tbsp.,
● Canned red beans — 400 ml.,
● Rice for filing,
● Sour cream for filing.


1. Cut 1 large onion into small cubes. Remove seeds from 1 red pepper and finely chop it. Grind 2 cloves of garlic.

2. Heat the frying pan with the oil and fry the onions until soft. Add garlic, red pepper, 1 teaspoon with a mound of hot chili powder, 1 tsp. Paprika and 1 tsp Ground cumin. Stir and cook for 5 more minutes.

3. Add and brown 500 g of ground beef, breaking the lumps with a spatula.

4. Crush the broth cubes in 300 ml of hot water. Pour into the frying pan with minced meat. Open 1 jar of chopped tomatoes, add to the frying pan. Pour ½ teaspoon dried marjoram and 1 tsp. Sugar, salt and pepper. Add about 2 tablespoons of tomato puree and mix the sauce.

5. Bring to a boil, mix and cover. Cook 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. If necessary, pour a little water.

6. Add red beans without liquid, bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes, adding a little water. Try it and, if desired, season it again. Cover, turn off the heat and leave the chili con for 10 minutes before serving.

7. Serve with sour cream and boiled rice.
