Baked Potatoes in the Oven with Cheese Sauce



• Potatoes (Medium) 10 pcs.,
• Chicken broth 200 ml or 1 cup,
• Onion (Medium) 1/2 pcs.,
• Butter — 3 tbsp.,
• Milk 350 ml. or 1 1/8 cup,
• Flour 3 tbsp.,
• Ground black pepper 1 tsp.,
• Cheddar cheese 300 grams or 0,66 pounds.


1. In a frying pan, melt the butter and sauté the onion for 3-5 minutes. Then add the flour and mix.
2. Cook 1 minute, stirring to fully absorbed oil meal.
3. Add chicken broth and cook, stirring, for about two minutes until it thickens.
4. Slowly pour in the milk and add the pepper. Give the mixture a good warm, but not boiling.
5. Then add the two-thirds of the grated cheese and remove the pan from the heat. Stir until cheese is melted.
6. Grease a baking tray with oil and place in it a layer of potatoes. Pour cheese sauce.
7. Then put another layer, and then pour the sauce. Continue until all ingredients are gone.
8. Pour the last layer of potatoes sauce and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover the pan with foil and cook in the oven 375 (F) 190(С) for 45 minutes. Then remove foil and cook for another 30-40 minutes.
9. Then remove from oven and let cool 5 minutes.
