Ηow to Make Candied Cherries

Cherries, covered with the finest layer of fine sugar, are a universal decoration of many desserts, for example, French parfait, English and American fruit cakes and the German Black Forest cake.

Step 1

Lightly beat up 1 egg white in a small shallow bowl. If you are afraid of salmonella, use quail eggs (salmonella do not live in them.) Hold the berries by the stem, grease them with protein using a culinary brush.

Step 2

Using a small spoon, evenly sprinkle each cherry with fine sugar or powdered sugar.

Step 3

Place the cherries on the grate and set aside until the sugar dries. Use candied cherries to decorate cakes and desserts.
