Chili con carne: Recipe

This spicy beef dish with vegetables and red beans is very popular in Mexico.

Ingredients:

● Beef — 700g
● Vegetable oil — 3 tbsp.
● Cumin — 1 tsp.,
● Oregano — 1 tsp.,
● Ground chili pepper — 1 teaspoon,
● Onions — 1-2 pcs.,
● Cloves of garlic — 2-3 pcs.,
● Tomatoes in own juice — 700 ml.,
● Salt — 1 teaspoon,
● Sugar — 1 tbsp.,
● Canned red beans — 250g.,
● Canned corn — 250g.,
● Lime — 1/2 pcs.,
● Sweet pepper — 1 pc.,
● Bitter black chocolate — 20g.

Directions:

1. Cut the meat into very small cubes.

2. Preheat the frying pan, add the vegetable oil and fry the meat until the liquid evaporates completely (10-15 minutes).

3. Cumin, oregano and chili pepper mixed in a mortar and well crushed.

4. Finely chop the onion, garlic and chili. When the meat is browned, put it in a saucepan, where it will be stewed. In the remaining oil add the onions and fry until transparent. Add the remaining vegetables to the onions.

5. Fry for 2-3 minutes and sprinkle with spices. Reduce heat and simmer for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the vegetables to the meat.

6. Canned tomatoes to mash and also add to meat.

7. Then pour the broth. Salt, pepper and mix. Cover and simmer for about 1.5 hours. At the end of this time, add beans, corn and lime juice.

8. Close the lid and simmer for another half an hour. 5 minutes before the readiness to add the chocolate, mix. Chili con carne is ready!
